Demand Analysis
will identify the
total
demand for skills/staffing required over a period (typically a year).
This can be relatively simple - for example
when demand is predictable and deployment
requirements are simple - for example a
situation where a given number of presences
are required during specified opening hours.
However, if demand is more complex -
changing through the day, week, season -
then it is
important to identify
any underlying seasonality - for example, as
shown by the thick blue line below
It is also important to
identify the certainty of this
variation in demand, as shown, for example,
by the vertical maroon bars below -
representing "past actuals".
A static picture will not
provide the complete picture.
We all understand the
variability of the UK weather - hot in
Summer, cold in Winter etc., however there
is a significant degree of uncertainty
attached to this - there can be cold wet
days in Summer and warmer, drier than
"average" days in the Winter.

An efficient deployment scheme needs to be able to supply
the right numbers of employee-hours to meet the variability
and uncertainty experienced by individual organisations
across time.
We have helped many clients to design flexible working /
annualised hours schemes
which meet their unique demand profiles.
